Elected Positions
SGA President
The SGA president works alongside the Campus Life director in planning agendas for SGA meetings, speaking into issues on campus, and encouraging the team. They are a Christ like example and guide the team in demonstrating the SGA mission statement. This position serves as the student representative to the Board of Trustees once a semester. This position represents Christ, MVNU, and SGA in service to better the campus and community.
Vice President of Academic Life
The Academic Life position is are responsible for representing student academic concerns before the administration, and fostering an on-campus environment where students are empowered to pursue their academic interests outside the classroom. Additionally, you would participate in all greater SGA events and initiatives and coordinate all student government elections.
Vice President of Community Life
The Community Life position oversees all campus clubs, through club leader meetings, helping students start new clubs, and representing all clubs to the Director of Campus Life. This position also works with commuter students, acting as their voice on SGA, keeping them updated with school-wide information, and working with the Commuter Council. The Community Life position will also work closely with the Intercultural Life department, sitting in on committee meetings and acting as that department's voice to SGA.
Vice President of Social Life
The Social Life position is responsible for planning and helping with all major SGA events for the academic year. The Social Life position is also expected to be well connected socially with the student body, and to be an information resource not only to the student body, but also to the SGA cabinet.
Vice President of Spiritual Life
The Spiritual Life position is, in short, to aid in cultivating the spiritual life both within the chapel experience as well as in day-to-day life. This position also serves as executive board member for the Student Government Association.
Vice President of Diversity and Inclusion
The Diversity and Inclusion position serves to engage minority students on campus (women, AIM, students with disabilities), work in conjunction with Director of Intercultural Life, promote Intercultural Life involvement on campus, serve on Diversity Committee Meeting once a month led the by Assistant Vice President of Intercultural Affairs, and bring concerns of minority students to SGA.
Interview Positions
Marketing Chairperson
This position is responsible for creating and implementing effective marketing plans for each event or campaign. This position chooses marketing strategies that best fit the event or campaign that may include but are not limited to printed posters, graphics for social media, yard signs, t-shirts, other giveaway items, word of mouth, etc. VP of Marketing works closely with the Media Chairperson to communicate to the student body.
Administrative Chairperson
This administrative role serves to take meeting minutes of what is talked about during weekly meetings. The position also works to develop budgets for events, facilitate the sales of FNL tickets, communicates to homecoming class representatives for Homecoming, and facilitates all election processes. This position must have great organizational, communication skills and proficient Microsoft excel skills as well as being flexible and willing to help the student body and SGA team in any way possible.
Media Chairperson
The Media Chairperson position is ideal for someone who has a great interest in spreading the word about events on campus. Applicant ideally has an extensive knowledge of social media including Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat, and Facebook.
Events Chairperson
The Events Chairperson works with the VP of Social life to plan SGA events. They are responsible for organizing Cougar Crazy themes, overseeing the Claw Crew, and working with athletics to see what creative events can be held to support the athletic teams.
The Student Activities Board (SAB) worker is a student worker position which works under the direction of the Office of Campus Life to assist the Student Government Association and additional Student Life entities as needed in planning, executing, and assessing student-facing events. Each SAB worker will work approximately 6-8 hours per week during the school year. This will vary depending on the event schedule.

Class Council Positions
Class President
The class president will serve as chairperson of the respective Class Council. The will oversee all class activities in coordination with the Class Events Director. They will also be responsible for: one campus wide activity per semester, one class activity per semester, Welcome Week activities as assigned by SGA, make appointments on the council in the event of vacancy, authorize class transactions along with the Treasurer, SGA Administrative Director and Advisor, attend all SGA meetings, attend Lead Week in the fall with the rest of SGA.
Administrative Director
The administrative director will attend all meetings as scheduled unless excused by the President. They will be responsible for conducting meetings and/or attending SGA meetings in the absence of the President. Should the President vacate office for any reason, the Admin. Dir. assumes those responsibilities. They will keep records and minutes of all meetings and make them available on Google Docs. They will send all meeting minutes to the SGA Administrative Chairperson. They will keep accounting records of class budget and submit regular reports of financial condition. They will regularly meet with SGA Administrative Chairperson. They will serve as a voice for the class he/she is representing. They will accept and carry out responsibilities as assigned by the Class Council.
Events Director
The class events director will attend all meetings as scheduled unless excused by the President. They will aid in the crafting of Council Events, with a voice geared toward organization and inclusion. They will serve as a voice for the class they are representing. They will promote and publicize all events sponsored by the class. They will accept and carry out responsibilities as assigned by the Class Council.
Ministries Director
The class ministries director will attend all meetings as scheduled unless excused by the President. The will be an active part of planning and coordinating all events with the respective Class Council. They will serve as chaplain to the respective Class that they are representing. They will work in conjunction with Class Council, SGA Vice President of Spiritual Life, and Student Mentors. They will accept and carry out responsibilities as assigned by the Class Council. They will plan and resource events and meetings such as class service days, Sunday night services, hearing students’ life stories, etc. Ideally, such events would occur at least once a month.
